The protests and accompanying riots which have swept across the country resulting from the tragic and needless death of George Floyd made its way to the San Fernando Valley yesterday. What began as a peaceful protest soon escalated into mayhem followed by the looting of several businesses and properties near Van Nuys City Hall, one of which was a longtime client of Paley Commercial Real Estate. LAPD had to be called in to quell the unrest and several arrests were made.
Coincidentally, June 1 was to be the same day many businesses were scheduled to open following the protracted shutdown caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Already suffering the loss of nearly three months of lost income, this latest unrest puts many of the City’s mom and pop stores in even more jeopardy of closing permanently.
Paley Commercial has been committed to the San Fernando Valley for more than 35 years. We are here to help Commercial Property Owners with leasing and management advice and services. In addition, any Tenants who require assistance with their commercial real estate needs are encouraged to reach out.
